Thoughts for the day:

The twin-ness of Gemini is interesting.  The Lovers Card, which Gemini rules, has a man and a woman, two genders standing side by side with an angel above them.  The woman is looking to the angel and the man is looking to the woman – both asking for guidance.  

The parts of the body that Gemini rules are also in pairs, arms, hands, shoulders, lungs, collar bones, upper ribs.  Every pair is a twin within our two sided body.  Is one side better than the other?  No, both are needed if we are to truly enjoy life.  

We often fall into traps by seeing or experiencing different aspects of something, believing that each aspect is really separate from the others.  This is the primary illusion that the human mind has taken as true.  We live with this illusion until we have had enough suffering and then our heart begins to look upwards for answers, just like the woman in the Lovers card.  So the heart has a responsibility (after receiving guidance from the spiritual realm) to guide the mental aspect (the man in the card) back to the Truth.  

Our longing for Love guides us.  Love brings the two-ness back into wholeness.  This illusion of separateness may be necessary so that through the appearance of ‘otherness’ we begin to consciously seek unity, the Oneness behind the illusion.  With Gemini we begin to train our mind to see the illusion of separateness as an illusion and the reality of Oneness as the Truth.

Spring Week 9 Heaven and Earth Unite

22. Jesus saw some babies nursing. He said to his disciples, “These nursing babies are like those who enter God’s kingdom.” The disciples asked him, “Then shall we enter the kingdom as babies?” Jesus said to them, “When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter the kingdom.” -From the Gospel of Thomas

Moving under the law of grace, we begin to view the world in a different manner.  Our consciousness shifts just as the earth quakes with a spectacular series of tremors.  In the past we have seen this as two things, inner and outer.  Now we begin to realize that they are not two, but one totally interrelated reality. In our world it has seemed as if two forces are meeting – those who wish things to remain the way they have been in the past and those who oppose this, desiring things to change; those who fear change and those who fear that change won’t occur fast enough.  Within ourselves, we feel these two forces meet, the cultural ego that doesn’t wish for change and the spiritual ego that wishes for transformation and tries to take control to have what it desires.  We need to look at our world and ourselves from an intention of Love.  What would Love do?  What does the heart say?  Can we hold steady, realizing that heaven and earth must unite in consciousness?  Can we let go of trying to be in control?  Can we see that the masculine and feminine principles must be reunited, within each of us and in our world?  Seeing that we are in the midst of a great transformation, can we be in a state of not knowing and just hold our own inner state in infinite tenderness and hold the world in this same gentle field of Love?  We are needed to hold the space for this shift that is occurring on all levels.  No longer is it an eye for an eye, but now there is healing, an eye to replace an eye, as said in the Gospel of Thomas, above.  We have not seen our own amazing strength and courage.  It is being called forth now in new and very powerful ways.  A mother’s strength during the birth of her child is incredible.  Know that we each carry that strength and the courage to face whatever comes.  The result will be the birth of peace and joy.  Let us send forth our Light and Love and hold the space for the new world to be born!  Vira Mata!  Courageous Earth Mother!

Contemplation:  You came into this world at this amazing time in response to the cries of pain and suffering from the creatures of Earth and, indeed, cries from the very Earth herself.  Your soul knew you were needed to aid in the fulfillment of this great shift in consciousness.  Your great compassion would not allow you to be elsewhere.  You were very brave to come here at this time and that strength and courage is available to you now.  Release all fear.  Bless the hearts of those who are still trapped in ignorance and fear.  Trust what comes…now and now and now.

Kabir, Habiba Ashki. Embracing a New Planetary Consciousness (p. 52).

There is an old Chinese curse:  “May you be born in interesting times”.  This is one of those times.  Is it a curse?  Or may it turn out to be a blessing in disguise.  As we look back on our lives, we often see that what at the time seemed intense, disruptive, and painful in hindsight has brought us to a place that we could never have reached without the intensity of that experience.  And it is still not easy to live through those interesting times.  It requires a willingness to truly get still on the inside, regardless of the external circumstances.

It seems that the question now is:  can we become still on the inside and find the place within us of Presence, of Peace?  Can we get extremely curious about what may be created out of our dance with the Unknown?  Can we allow a whole new sort of creativity to arise, one that comes from listening deeply to the moment and to nature, to our Earth Mother and to our Source.  We are walking through times when the path ahead is unclear, but this moment is a treasure.  May we unlock the vast possibilities of each moment.  May we come back to our heart space, again and again, thanking our mind for its guidance, but choosing to listen now in a new way.  And even if it takes us returning to our heart over and over:

Rumi says:

“Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn’t matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again , come , come.”

According to most spiritual traditions, humanity was given free will. Have you ever stopped to think about what that means? It seems to me that it means that we have the right to choose freely, that our consent is a necessary part of the justice system. Over the ages this has been forgotten and, because of this, things that are not aligned with Love have been allowed to occur. The spiritual law is that we were given the power of self determination and it is still available now. Humanity has learned to fit in with the power structures and authorities in order to receive what is needed for us to survive. We have given away to power and authority the sacred gift of sovereignty that was given to our species at the beginning of time, before even form existed. This law gives open access to what we need to flourish, but this must be claimed in order for us to be reconnected to the hoop of life. When we revoke the assumed consent, even on the inner planes, there are spiritual consequences for the ones who have taken our power to choose from us, personally, culturally, and in every avenue of our life journey. Let us spend a little time today deciding just what we are willing to give our consent to.

Wow! Two weeks since I posted here. I started mentoring two classes of students for my friend Debra Silverman’s astrology school. So fun, and it takes lots of my time. Still I will try to make space for posting here. Taking things just one day at a time. So many things on my calendar and they are all important so I need to keep my mind seated firmly in the present moment. I can handle ‘now’ and then ‘now’ and then another ‘now’. And so can you. Breathe and then another. I wish for you all the best. Stay present, stay grounded, keep your heart open, be open to unexpected outcomes. Know that all is well, even though it seems that things are in upheaval all around us. Trust that something is unfolding that will be beautiful. Go with the flow. Celebrate!

Someone asked me this week what our work is as bearers of the Light.  Seems to me we come to a place where it is more about being than doing.  Perhaps just by being we hold open a space on Earth for the Light to shine through.  We need to stand in position right where we are in the center of humanity without wavering.  We anchor firmly in the present moment, being honorable toward whatever comes our way, following through with any guidance that we receive, learning what we need to learn and setting boundaries when required.  This Light that is flowing through us does not belong to us and it contains all of the Attributes of the Divine Source.   Gratitude is our heartfelt response.  

Perhaps these Attributes or Holy Names connect to the ones held within our vessel, mingle and pour forth with a new light.  It may be rather like the interaction of the sun and the moon.  I heard somewhere that the light that is radiated from the sun mingles with the energy of the moon and there is a shift in the composition of the Light that we receive.  The amazing softness and beauty of the moon’s light contains photons that are different from the photons in the sunlight.  I love this image of something new being created through the mingling of the energy of these two planetary bodies.  This image allows us to remember ourselves as a necessary part of the whole.  Let us be vessels for the Light of our Creator and the beauty of our own soul’s light to pour forth into the hearts and minds of humanity.

Our emotional nature has been battered by the storms upon our inner sea. It is possible for the surface of our inner ocean to become the mirror for our Higher Self and, to do this, it is necessary to release past emotional patterns and the resultant energy that is stuck in our emotional and physical bodies.

How do I do this, you might ask. We must become ever vigilant to the things in our outer world that hold a charge for us, that cause our emotional patterns to change due to something outside of our bodies. We draw things, people and events to ourselves in order to heal the emotions that have become stuck due to our fear of dealing with them.

Can we love ourselves when we feel triggered? Can we love ourselves for feeling these emotions? All emotion is valid, there are no emotions that are bad or wrong. The difficulty comes when we deny what we feel and over time the pressure builds until it becomes so intense that it becomes nearly impossible to express appropriately in the moment.

These emotions become like a storm at sea with the boat of our being continually tossed by wave after wave of a varied emotional nature As we begin to accept what arises within us, we may seem to be living through major earth changes. Whole inner continents may be washed away as old tired belief systems are cleared from our subconscious. Do not fear. This is a part of the purification so that balance and harmony may be restored.

As we continue the work we will find ourselves more and more walking peacefully upon the water, as it becomes even and smooth. Treat yourself with kindness, beloved. Cherish the beautiful one that you are. Do the work to free yourself from the turbulence of the past. Know that all is well.

Hi, beloved;  Amazing snow filled day here in Colorado.  So lovely to stay by the warmth of the fire watching the pristine beauty of the snow fall.  When snow keeps me close to home, I find it easier to be still and listen to silence; both the inner silence and the quiet of the falling snow.  Our lives have gotten so filled with noise.  There is rarely a moment when we can relax and just breathe.  

Stop now and take a few deep breaths.  Just watch your breath go in and out for a couple of minutes without any control or judgment of how it is.  Move your mind into your place of peace and invite the stillness at the center of your Being, the stillness in the core of Earth and the peace at the center of the universe to connect.  Feel this Oneness fill you and your entire life with peace.  Relax into the innate glory and stillness that this reminds you of.  Be still and know.  After a time, express your gratitude and move back into your outer life restored.   And so it is!

Good morning, beloveds; Working a bit on my family’s history today. I didn’t care much for history until I started seeing my ancestors there in the story. In the mid 70’s I was suddenly drawn to learn about genealogy and took a correspondence course on the subject. I had no particular reason for this and was amazed how much I enjoyed it. This was pre-computer and so I had to do all the research on microfilm. Fascinating.

Some years later an elder Sufi teacher told us that we could do the work to unravel held karma in our lineages by meditating on each ancestor and doing whatever was needed to help them both heal and feel complete with their lifetime. I was so surprised that the reason for my attraction to geneology was suddenly obvious. I have spent the last nearly 50 years in this journey of discovery.

Follow your yearnings and guidance, beloved. Maybe one day you will suddenly see why they arose and you will have done the necessary work for your next step. Blessings on your journey!

Are you ready now to remember that we are all connected? Are you ready to turn around and face your ancestors in gratitude? Are you ready to know these beloved ones who survived to reproduce themselves and thus opened the way for your birth? Are you ready to bow to them, to understand yourself better because you are willing to know them and what they need? This is the great inner journey of discovery and we are blessed to live in this time of great transformation. Let’s work together to become an evolutionary bridge to the unfolding new paradigm. I stepped up to the task a long time ago. Will you join me?
