Good morning, beloveds; Today I am thinking of the sacred hoop and the teachings that my friend Anita Sanchez wrote of in her book, The Four Sacred Gifts, Indigenous Wisdom for Modern Times. She speaks of the gifts that were given by an elder, Don Coyhis at a gathering of elders from across the world back in 1995. These gifts are medicine for today and they are sorely needed.
They are:
The power to forgive the unforgivable
The power of unity
The power of healing
The power of hope
Today, as the old ways are crumbling, we must be willing to use these gifts wisely, to share them freely for life depends on this. We are seeking that the circle be restored, that all of life be woven back into the sacred hoop which will provide what is needed for inherent thriving for all life. May it be so. And so it is!
